Ruben is Managing Director of Suralco,a bauxite mining and Alumina producing company in Suriname, employing 1000 employees and 1500 contractors. He was Group Chief Operating Officer of MRS Holdings Limited in Nigeria for three years.
Prior to this he had worked as Managing Director/General Manager of ChevronTexaco West Africa, headquartered in Nigeria responsible for the Retail and commercial marketing activities of ChevronTexaco Downstream in Nigeria, Cameroon, Congo(Br), Benin, Togo and Cote D’Ivoire. He was Managing Director in Texaco Haiti.
He studied at Wageningen University at the faculty of Agricultural Engineering with majors in mechanical engineering and business administration.
He has an accomplished record of handling six countries of ChevronTexaco in West Africa and was able to lead the transition from Texaco to Chevron Oil
and then to MRS Oil Plc.Indeed he also led the ChevronTexaco acquaition of the Shell Oil company in Cameroon.
